The Go Cheese Indian Chef Awards is a FENNN Trust initiative mentored by renowned celebrity chef Hemant Oberoi. Held as an annual event, the GGICA is an exclusive award catered towards Indian chefs from the hospitality industry. Cook-offs take place across the country, culminating in an award show held in Goa.
The award recognizes the hard work and skills of young aspirational chefs, while also serving as a platform for players from the culinary services and products industry to showcase themselves. Cook-offs for GCICA 2018 took place in 8 cities across India at Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, Cochin, Kolkata, Delhi / NCR, Ahmedabad and Goa, and in 2019, the awards will be expanding to 14 cities - Mangaluru, Bengaluru, Kochi, Chennai, Hyderabad, Bhuvaneshwar, Kolkata, Lucknow, Chandigarh, Delhi, Jaipur, Jodhpur, Ahmedabad, Indore, Pune, Mumbai and Goa.
The launch of GGICA warranted a digital presence to accompany their physical activities. A new website was required, which would promote the awards while serving as a platform for information as well as new registrants. To create awareness and reach chefs in these 8 cities it was imperative to run paid campaigns on Facebook & Instagram.
General Data P. Limited worked closely to design and develop the website, and conduct digital marketing activities which would increase visibility and make talented chefs across the country aware of the platform.
To generate online visibility and relevant inbound traffic, we optimized the website for search engines through Search Engine Optimization activities. Additionally, social channels were key to generate interest, and we ran campaigns on networks like Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and YouTube – constituting an overall Social Media Management strategy.
Search Engine Optimization is an ongoing process, and we constantly strive to improve and maintain the quality and search hygiene of the website. A combination of paid and organic strategies were employed on social networks as well as other relevant websites that we identified as relevant to our target audience. Organic social activities included regular posts and video optimization, and paid activities included page like campaigns, post engagement campaigns, traffic generation campaigns and event response campaigns.
