Design & Development
Design is the first step in the process of transforming the customer requirements into an executable software product. Owing to the complexity of software products, it is imperative that this activity be carried out in a disciplined manner, so that quality is built into the software, instead of it being assured through testing and validation.
Design Policy
The designated Manager and Lead shall ensure that design is developed and documented as per the projects defined process and by using identified methods and tools.
The designated Leads shall ensure that test plan, test readiness and test completion criteria for each level of testing, and test cases are developed, reviewed and approved for testing the software product against requirements and acceptance criteria.
The designated Leads shall ensure that all design changes (changes to design, test plan and test cases) due to changes in requirement and other reasons are carried out as per the change control process.The designated Leads shall ensure that traceability is maintained between requirements, design and tests planned to verify and validate the product upon development.
During the development process, customer requirements are transformed into an executable software product.
Development Policy
The designated Leads shall ensure that project's defined process, effective programming methods, coding standards, documentation standards, documentation templates and development tools are used for coding, packaging and documentation. The designated Leads shall ensure that code modules and documentation are developed systematically as per the design and requirements specification. The designated Leads shall ensure that code and documentation are reviewed as per the review plan and the code is unit tested as per the test plan. The designated Leads shall ensure that final version of the documentation is tested against the baseline product.
The designated Leads shall ensure that code and documentation are changed based on the changes to requirements and design, as per the change control process. The designated Leads shall ensure that traceability is maintained between requirements, design, code modules, test cases and test results to establish product quality.
